Close to Perth is the Bibbulmun Track northern terminus. Of the 1000km we will walk a very short section plus a challenge to make our own way “off track” to arrive back at our start point. We depart from the car park and it is a short walk to the wooden platform with outstanding views over the Mundaring Weir and from there descend to cross the weir wall and climb up past Mundaring Weir Hotel to arrive at Ball Creek Hut for our first night. From there we meander through pretty Manns Gully and arrive at Helena Hut our campsite for our second night. The rammed earth hut is the largest on the track and has great views over the valley. Our last day is our discovery day where we go “off track” and here the participants have to plan their own way back to the Discovery Centre in Mundaring.
Small group only, 2 guides, each walking day is about 3-4 hours and we stop every hour for a break. We stay at Bibbulmun Track campsites which have a three sided hut and we either sleep in our cocoons in the hut or as the weather could be very nice, we would camp under the stars with the mosquito proof sleeping cocoon and have a tarp over top in case of morning dew.
