This trek is for the more adventurous of the 9 to 13-year-olds as they will be climbing two of Western Australia’s higher peaks – Mt Cuthbert and Mt Vincent.
We begin from Albany Highway and our first ascent is onto Sullivan rock, not very high but wide and interesting with its rock pools and mosses.
Here we can have our first exploration and a good place for a quick snack. From this rock, we ascend quite steeply up to the first peak of Mt Vincent, and on short spur trails we can enjoy great views both south-west and east. We traverse the saddle between the peaks and climb again to Mt Vincent with excellent views over exposed rock faces.
We continue onto Monadnocks campsite for our lunch and then return on along a forest trackback to our starting point.
We believe that a day out in nature can be equal to 3 days in the classroom and we are able to tailor the hike to meet your needs.
