Description
Join Simply Trekking on the best of the Bibbulmun Track. Stunning coastal views and the Valley of the Giants.
Day 1 is to arrive at Peaceful Bay by 7pm, set up camp and complete pre-trek briefing. Parents are welcome to camp with us overnight. By arriving the night before, we are able to start walking early the next morning to beat the heat.
Day 2 Our trek starts on the beach at Peaceful Bay and climbs gently up to the headland with panoramic views over the southern ocean.
Day 3 We move inland along the coastal heath to the shade of the Valley of the Giants – big Karri and Tingle trees.
Day 4 The track meanders next to the Frankland River and the hut is nestled into the trees with decking extending to the rivers edge. This hut is often voted the best of the track.
Day 5 We descend with views of the Walpole inlet to camp overnight at a caravan park (yes flushing toilets & showers, towels available to hire).
Day 6 On our last day the track takes us east along the inlet to gently climb Mt Clare then morning tea snack at Mt Clare hut amongst the tingle trees. We descend steeply from Mt Clare under thick forest to the picturesque swing bridge over Deep River and Nuyts Wilderness carpark approximately 12noon. From here we take transport to the Banksia Cafe, Walpole.
During summer, we choose to walk the exposed coastal tracks in the early morning moving into the shade of the forest. Average Jan temperature for Walpole is 25.
